Social-environmental discourse on the topic of pollution most often centers around plastic filling the oceans and streets—physical manifestations of the word. Yet it is the subjects of pollution not immediately seen that subsequently go unnoticed. In urban cities, noise pollution levels directly affect the quality of life of the city’s inhabitants, with direct links to worse health in cities with higher noise levels. While seemingly invisible, noise pollution outputs in urban environments cannot be discussed and mitigated the same as physical, plastic pollution. In this audio-visual feedback, viewers are invited to test the noise pollution they produce to instantly see how it resonates in the physical world, illustrating the direct impact between people and the environment they inhabit. It Shows serves as an immediate reminder of the mutualistic relationship humans share with their physical and non-physical surroundings that must be properly maintained.
